Crazy Bachelor Party!!!

Bet you clicked, hoping to see different photos....

Brandon Melott is getting married. Brandon is an avid cyclist, has been since he was a kid. That means he can do quite a bit with the bike. He can crush on the road. He's got a massive motor and a wicked front wheel on the trail. And he can dirt jump with the best of them.

He had a little bachelor party on Saturday night, in his back yard. No strippers. Just a dirt jump track. And good fun. I had never had the opportunity to take snaps like this before, so I was psyched to have some good riders to shoot.

Click on the link for more, and congratulations Brandon....

Snapping for a living

It's Wednesday June 10th, 2009. I'm sitting outside my apartment in my car bumming off my own wireless internet. Temporarily locked out of my place (but that's another story for another time). It's been 3 days.

3 days since I became a full time photographer.

If you didn't already know, I held a day job as a recruiter and snapped pictures in my spare time for spare cash. The job was lucrative, afforded me plenty of money to buy toys and go on great trips quite often. The work life balance was nice too, rarely working more than 40 hours a week with tons of vacation time and a very flexible schedule. Ask my friends....

But things weren't right. I was ready for a change. I'm not going to get into the specifics, and as a matter of fact I'm going to go ahead and end this post very quickly cause I don't feel like spilling my guts all over the web.

Suffice it to say that I've jumped headlong into the view finder of my Nikon D300 and the frame is looking pretty sweet.......

Momma!

My mom decided to step into the ring this last Memorial Day with her first 8K race. She's been running for a while, but has never done a race of this distance. I'm so pumped that she did it, finished strong and could have kept going. Half Marathon next. Then the full monty. Then she's gonna dig an ultra with me!!

Congratulations Momma....

OKC Boathouse International Triathlon - Elite Men Images

As is with last weekend, I just got back in from a long day all over Oklahoma yesterday shooting photos with my good friend Tony Mayse. Tony has a new guidebook coming out in the coming months and we were short on some climbing photos for it, so we planned a jet-set day of driving, climbing and sweating. It had been a while since Tony and I had hung out so it was great to catch up on life and other good stuff.

90 degrees at Quartz Mountain and the Refuge didn't bode well for sending, and the sun beat us down like step children, but we got what we wanted, jumped in the car, cranked the air conditioning on high, and headed back to OKC. Like all the commas?

I've been holding out on the men's shots from the OKC Boathouse Triathlon due to talks with publications and getting some of them published, but the time has come and I'm syked to show them.

Go here for the sweetness.

OKC Boathouse International Triathon Photos - elite women

Ok, so I'm back in town after a long weekend in Arkansas. We got just enough good weather to shoot some nice photos on the steep sandstone in Dardanelle Rock, Sams Throne, and Cave Creek. I'm psyched.

I'm behind in the game. I finally got around to editing the "elite women division" photos from the OKC Boathouse International Triathlon a couple of weekends ago-Or was that last weekend? It's all running together in my mind. Regardless, I'm done with them and I gotta say I was very satisfied with the results.

Go check them out and let me know what you think. Elite Men are still to come, and I saved the best for last.
